Marriage

When Indi and I arrived in Murano, resident psychiatrist Esther thought we were a couple. We both found this hilarious. One evening, after a nice change of shoes, we were telling Linda Lee about it – resulting in an actual conversation that went something like this:

Indi: Well, we do kind of sound like a married couple sometimes.
Me: What are you talking about? We don’t sound like a married couple.
Indi: Sure we do. We have this thing, where we tease eachother.
Me: What? When do we tease eachother? What do we tease eachother about?
Indi: You know, all sorts of stuff. We do it all the time.
Me: I still don’t know what you’re talking about. Give me an example.
Indi: I don’t have an example. I’m not good with examples.
Me: You’re not good with examples? What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Indi: I don’t know. I’m just not good with examples.
Me: Of course you are good with examples.
Indi: No, I’m not.
Me: Okay, okay… maybe we do kind of sound like a married couple.
Indi: You see? That was the example!

*uncontrollable giggles go on for the next hour or two*

Me: Okay… so which one of us is the guy in this marriage?
Indi: Do we really need one?
Me: Nah. I guess not.

Messing with the Devil

Just don’t do it, especially if the self-proclaimed devil’s name happens to start with a Q. Trust me. You might end up paying 6,000 euros for a plate of really bad Fettuccine Alfredo.

Miriam

As Dutch as they come, Miriam Steger is a walking definition of the word “godsend”. Not only is she always armed with a warm smile and something nice to say, but she is also always prepared to organize and straighten out anything or anyone that needs to be organized or straightened out. Where would we be without her? Seriously.

Glass capital of the world. There could not be a more perfect setting for this event. Besides, 'Murano Magic' has a nice ring to it.
