Alessia Fatone
Lovely Italiano beadmaker, lampwork teacher and furniture restorer, who made me a fabulous pea-bead and taught me to say all my favorite Italian words; i.e. Ametista! and Fantastico!

Alps
Could be viewed from the studio on clear days, snow and all. Trippy!

Ametista!
One of my many new favorite words. (Means Amethyst, in case you couldn’t guess.)
For some reason, Italian words seem to look better with exclamation points.

Aquarium Bead
- One of the bead techniques taught in Pati Walton’s workshops, including incredible detail and lots of Pati’s wonderful murrini. I’m sure you’ve seen photos, but this is the kind of thing that really needs to be seen in person.
- A favorite dish among Murano Magicians (perhaps due to all the tentacles), aka ‘National Geographic Special’ or simply ‘Fish Soup’.
In my mind, known as ‘oooh GROSS’, ‘how the hell can they bring themselves to eat that?’ or ‘let’s see how many dead animals we can fit into one bowl’. (See Vegetarian.)

Aussies
The lovely Avril, Marianne and Sharon came all the way from Down Under to participate in Murano Magic. I’m so glad I got to hang out with them, because my upcoming trip to Australia seems much less intimidating now. No matter what happens, I get to see my girls again! Woohoo!

Australia
My next destination. Very far away. Time to start mentally preparing and all.

Avril Bowie
Hot glass chick, traveling gal, life saver (see Toothache) and seriously, one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
No relation to David.
(See Aussies.)
